Here are some close-ups of the design texture on some of the shirts. See? The color isn't painted on the surface (stiff, crunchy); it's dyed and antidyed in, sort of. It's not a batik-like process, either; that's a plus, because mortal humans can't dye stuff as pitch black as a factory can. So I let them do that part.
